November 9, 2021Apply to be a Substitute ECE Teacher Today!
April 26, 2023ChildCareMatters Substitute Platform Pilot
The ChildcareMatters Substitute Service platform allows early childhood education (ECE) facilities to quickly and easily find a substitute teacher should there be a planned or unplanned absence of a regular teacher. This platform saves ECE educators time and money, while ensuring that the children they are caring for have a fully-certified and trained teacher. In addition, this platform also prevents parents from having to miss work due to a lack of available care.
The lack of available staff is at a crisis-level for ECE facilities. According to a March 2022 report, 76 percent of ECE programs in Erie County are experiencing a staffing shortage, leading to thousands of families in need of childcare unable to find it. This platform quickly connects substitute teachers and ECE facilities, enabling many who may want part-time employment, such as current students and semi-retirees, to help alleviate this shortage while enabling them to provide their current training and years of experience in a meaningful way.
We are currently hiring for substitute positions, which allow very flexible hours! Please click here to apply!
The platform is currently in a pilot phase and will expand to all of Early Learning Resource Center Region 1 (Erie, Crawford, Mercer, and Venango counties) as capacity allows. Funding for this initiative was provided in part by the Erie Community Foundation.
